Tragus Piercing is a popular piercing with both men and women. The most important things for a successful Tragus piercing are the placement of the piercing and sizing of jewellery. Tragus piercing is usually placed in the small flap of cartilage that comes out from the side of the face at the entrance of the ear canal. Some people’s tragus is to small to pierce and you should always check the tragus to make sure it is safe to pierce. It is important to use only the highest quality body jewellery such as 316L Surgical Stainless Steel, 18ct Solid Gold or Titanium. Here at Dundrum Piercing we carry an extensive range of tragus jewellery and specialise in custom-made body jewellery. Dundrum Piercing recommends against the use of ear piercing guns. We also recommend against the use of Ear Lobe studs or sleepers for a Tragus piercing. The healing time can vary from person to person depending on their health and whether or not they follow the aftercare instructions. The first 14 days are crucial in the healing process. During this period it is important not to touch the piercing unless cleaning (twice a day for the first 14 days with an antiseptic solution that Dundrum Piercing provides), no oral contact, and to be careful not to knock the piercing. We advise not to change the jewellery for the first 8 to 12 weeks, and to make sure that only the highest quality body jewellery is used at all times.
