Industrial Piercing is a popular piercing with both men and women. The most important things for a successful Industrial piercing are the placement of the piercing and the sizing of jewellery. Industrial piercing is usually placed at the top part of the ear through the cartilage from one side to the other. This piercing can take a while to settle down as it is in an area that is prone to being knocked easily. Care should be taken not to get any hair products on the piercing during the first 14 days. It is important to use only the highest quality body jewellery such as 316L Surgical Stainless Steel, 18ct Solid Gold or Titanium and it is our recommendation to always use internally threaded barbells. Here at Dundrum Piercing we carry an extensive range of industrial jewellery and specialise in custom-made body jewellery. Dundrum Piercing recommends against the use of ear piercing guns. The healing time can vary from person to person depending on their health and whether or not they follow the aftercare instructions. The first 14 days are crucial in the healing process. During this period it is important not to touch the piercing unless cleaning (twice a day for the first 14 days with an antiseptic solution that Dundrum Piercing provides), and to be careful not to knock the piercing. For the first 3 to 6 months it is not unusual to experience some secretion from the piercing, as this is part of the healing process. We advise not to change the jewellery for the first 3-4 weeks and to make sure that only the highest quality body jewellery is used at all times.
