Lip piercing is a popular piercing with both men and women. The most important things to a successful Lip piercing are the placement of the piercing and the sizing of jewellery. Lip/labret piercing is usually placed between the lip and the chin being careful not to pierce to low as it may rub against the gum. When having your Labret pierced it is important to start with a longer barbell, as it is not unusual to experience some swelling on the inside of the piercing. It is important to use only the highest quality body jewellery such as 316L Surgical Stainless Steel, 18ct Solid Gold or Titanium and it is our recommendation to always use internally threaded barbells. Here at Adonis we carry an extensive range of labret jewellery and specialise in custom-made body jewellery. The healing time can vary from person to person depending on their health and whether or not they follow the aftercare instructions. The first 14 days are crucial in the healing process. During this period it is important not to touch the piercing unless cleaning (twice a day for the first 14 days on the outside of the piercing with an antiseptic solution thatĀ AdonisĀ provides), maintain good oral hygiene, and to be careful not to knock the piercing. During the first 3 to 6 months it is not unusual to experience some secretion from the piercing, as this is part of the healing process. We recommend to change the long barbell to a shorter barbell after the first 14 days and to make sure that only the highest quality body jewellery is used at all times.
