Ampallang Piercing is a popular male genital piercing. The most important things for a successful Ampallang piercing are the placement of the piercing and sizing of jewellery. Ampallang piercing is usually placed horizontally through the head of the penis, above the urethra. This piercing can take a while to settle down, normally around three to six months. It is important to use only the highest quality body jewellery such as 316L Surgical Stainless Steel, 18ct Solid Gold or Titanium and it is our recommendation to always use internally threaded barbells. Here at Dundrum Piercing we carry an extensive range of internally threaded barbells and barbell ends and specialise in custom-made body jewellery. The healing time can vary from person to person depending on their health and whether or not they follow the aftercare instructions. The first 14 days are crucial in the healing process. During this period it is important not to touch the piercing unless cleaning (two to three times a day with a salt water solution), limited sexual activity for the first 2 weeks, and to be careful not to knock the piercing. During the first 3 to 6 months it is not unusual to experience some secretion from the piercing, as this is part of the healing process. We advise not to change the jewellery for the first 3-4 weeks, and to make sure that only the highest quality body jewellery is used at all times.
