Clitoral Hood Piercing is our most popular female genital piercing. The most important things for a successful Hood piercing are the placement of the piercing and sizing of jewellery. Clitoral Hood piercing is usually placed through the loose skin that covers the clitoris. There are two types of Hood piercing. One is the Horizontal Hood piercing, and the other is the Vertical Hood piercing. Correct placement is very important for these piercing’s, being sure that all measurements are correct so that once pressure is applied to the jewellery it can stimulate the clitoris. Clitoral Hood piercing is one of the quickest healing piercing usually around 2 to 4 weeks. It is important to use only the highest quality body jewellery such as 316L Surgical Stainless Steel, 18ct Solid Gold or Titanium. Here at Dundrum Piercing we carry an extensive range of clitoral hood jewellery and specialise in custom-made body jewellery. The healing time can vary from person to person depending on their health and whether or not they follow the aftercare instructions. The first 14 days are crucial in the healing process. During this period it is important not to touch the piercing unless cleaning (two to three times a day with a salt water solution), no oral contact, limited sexual activity, and to be careful no to knock the piercing. We advise not to change the jewellery for the first 3-4 weeks and to make sure that only the highest quality body jewellery is used at all times.
